Shire of Cue

The Shire of Cue was in need of a modernised website with the goal of being user-friendly and community-centric.

Including modules such as the Road Report, Events Calendar, and the Image Rotator, the new Shire of Cue website has provided the Shire with a website to reflect its natural beauty, charm, and approachability, all while being centred around the grounding tenets of being community first and easy to navigate.

The Client

The Shire of Cue, also known as the 'Queen of the Murchison', was previously a bustling gold rush hub. Cue now offers a blend of history and natural beauty. The Shire covers 13,716 square kilometres with well-maintained roads for easy exploration.

Situated on the Great Northern Highway, Cue welcomes travellers with its relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Cue's landscape surprises with vibrant wildflowers, native wildlife, and picturesque salt lakes against a red earth backdrop. Conveniently located between Meekatharra and Mt Magnet, Cue lies within an outback oasis, just over 400km from Geraldton.

The Brief

The Shire of Cue wanted a website that prioritised accessibility and showcased the beauty of the region. Their wish to have bold colours, large buttons and icons, and an easy to read font all contributed to an interface that is easy to navigate, and enjoyable to use.

Modules

The Shire of Cue has adopted several modules to improve the accessibility and welcoming presence of the website. This includes modules to allow the users who visit the website for tourism and travel to be prepared and aware of conditions through the Fire Ratings module and the Road Report module.

To allow residents to feel connected and close to what's going on in and around the town, the Events Calendar module and Latest News modules are prominently placed on the homepage.
