Market Creations was appointed by the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce as event managers for the inaugural Hedland Economic and Resources Forum.

The scope of work included event marketing, content, sponsorship procurement, web solutions, event theming, logistics and budgeting requirements.

The event saw over 200 local, intrastate and interstate delegates converge to hear from speakers discussing the Pilbara's economic climate and resource industry.

During his keynote speech, Premier of Western Australia Colin Barnett noted Pilbara had global significance – a soundbyte that resonated with media outlets across the state including print, online and broadcast. A significant positive media profile ensued with some 15 different positive articles being published.

Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce Inc President Bill Dziombak said a key outcome he hoped for from the forum was an increased awareness through all levels of business of the investment in this region.

"Given the planned development and growth prospects for the region it is essential that all stakeholders have an understanding of the region now and into the future, and I am confident we have achieved this," he said.

Other speakers at the event included representatives from LandCorp, Pilbara Cities, BHP Billiton, Port Hedland Port Authority, Fortescue Metals Group, Atlas Iron, Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA and the Pilbara Development Commission.
