Shire of Boddington

Boddington gets a facelift

Achieving a balance between the old and new is always a challenge when taking on a local government rebrands.

The Shire of Boddington was preparing for significant physical and cultural transformation with the reopening of the Boddington Gold Mine and its selection as part of the West Australian State Government SuperTowns initiative.

We also helped Boddington with a full stationery suite and new website.

The brief

Through their logo, the Shire wanted to show that Boddington was a vibrant and connected community, providing employment and lifestyle opportunities, as well as boasting a beautiful environment.

Most importantly, the Shire wanted to increase community confidence through its brand.

We had to communicate the region's economic opportunities as well as its pristine environment, and it all had to work with their existing tourism brands.

The solution

Through a combination bright colours, abstract elements and sleak geometric typography, our final solution paints Boddington as a bright, robust and forward-thinking organisation.

It captures the region's key features in subtle style, including the Hotham River, rolling landscapes and nearby mining and resources opportunities.

The shire was over the moon with our attention to service and willingness to consult in person, despite a rather large distance barrier.
