About the client

Boddington is located 125km south of Perth, or a short 1.5-hour drive, making it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway. With over half of the Shire covering state forest, Boddington is a charming escape and a popular area for hiking, wildflower sighting, fishing, picnicking, and bird watching.

The Brief

The Shire of Boddington was facing high phone traffic of customer service enquiries which highlighted the need for a new website with high usability. The focus for the Shire was therefore an enhanced user experience, ensuring ease of navigation and access to information to assist with customer service enquiries. The client also wanted a bright colour palette to add a sense of vibrancy and to attract visitors to the region.

Councillor Portal

The website design also shaped the development of a Councillor Portal for the Shire of Boddington, which went live the same week as their corporate website. The Councillor Portal acts as an internal, central platform for Shire council members.

The Outcome

The new corporate site serves as an engaging hub of everything Boddington has to offer, for residents and tourists alike. Information can be sourced quickly and easily with the use of home page quick links and integration of the events calendar and news feed modules.

Social media feed integration ensures a seamless user experience across Boddington’s online platforms and connects the Shire of Boddington with its community and visitors. The use of organic lines throughout the site mirrors the bodies of water in the region, such as the Hotham River that runs through Boddington.

The engaging photography celebrates the Boddington community and showcases its natural attractions. Customer requests can be made via a web form to assist the Shire with managing enquiries.
