The Client

The EMRC came to us to refresh their website design in 2024 to create a more environmentally focused homepage aesthetic, and to help drive engagement to their more popular services and community offerings. The EMRC provides services in waste management and education, resource recovery and various sustainability initiatives for the EMRC Region on behalf of its four member councils, the Town of Bassendean, the City of Bayswater, the Shire of Mundaring, and the City of Swan.

The Design

The website’s intricate new design features artwork by Nani Creative, an Aboriginal-led creative agency, which reflects the five main waterways in the EMRC region. The green and brown hues create an earthy tone for the website’s look and feel, whilst highlighting EMRC’s commitment to waste management and sustainability innovations.

The Experience

The refresh expands on the existing site’s infrastructure to introduce a variety of new modules and features, including a dedicated hub for council meetings, a section for staff profiles, a dynamic events calendar, language translation capabilities and more, to provide a captivating user experience that keeps visitors engaged for longer, enabling more interactions with EMRC’s range of programs and services.
