Market Creations Agency has been working closely with the Shire of Victoria Plains since late 2024, initially engaged to provide strategic communications support for the Grevillea Wind Farm development, located within the Shire’s boundaries. This relationship has since grown from ad‑hoc support to an ongoing contracted engagement covering strategic communications, media relations, branding, and community‑facing communications.

Media Relations and Strategic Communications

We provide ongoing support for press releases, community updates, and media engagement across a range of topics including housing developments, space tourism, and renewable energy projects.

As a significant renewable energy project in the region, the Grevillea Wind Farm represents both an opportunity and a challenge for the local community. This requires careful stakeholder engagement and transparent, fact‑based communication. Working alongside the Shire and Green Wind Renewables, we ensure media opportunities, digital communications, and community engagement activities are consistently aligned to the Shire’s objectives.

Our approach emphasises a streamlined and efficient process, including clear briefings, structured drafts, efficient approval workflows, and rapid turnaround times. Feedback is central to the process: we maintain an open dialogue, adapt quickly to suggestions, and refine outputs to meet the Shire’s expectations. We have also developed a media framework to support smooth approvals and fast response times. This has strengthened the Shire’s agility in managing media enquiries and built internal confidence to manage certain aspects of media engagement in‑house.

As the supplier of the Shire’s CouncilConnect website, we also support the fast upload and publishing of news items and other content, improving efficiency from drafting through to publication.

Branding and Corporate Identity Refresh

The Shire engaged Market Creations Agency to refresh its corporate branding and establish a polished, consistent identity across all official documents, newsletters, and signage. As part of this work, a structured stakeholder engagement process was undertaken to inform the design brief and help refine the final chosen concept, ensuring the new identity aligned with community and organisational expectations.

We developed a refreshed logo and comprehensive corporate branding suite designed to present exceptionally well across letterhead, templates, and publications. This refreshed identity was then extended to the Shire’s monthly newsletter and regional signage, reinforcing pride, professionalism, and clear visual consistency throughout the community. The evolved brand also supported the Shire’s advocacy efforts at a State Government level, strengthening recognition and visibility.

Outcomes

  1. The Shire now has a reliable and knowledgeable partner for media relations, ensuring accurate, consistent messaging and professional presentation.
  2. The new branding has been widely adopted across corporate documents, newsletters, and signage, receiving positive feedback from staff and community members.
  3. Streamlined processes have reduced time spent on approvals and improved overall communication effectiveness. Our management of the CouncilConnect website ensures a seamless process from drafting through to publishing online.
  4. Transparent communication and structured engagement activities have strengthened public understanding of major projects such as the Grevillea Wind Farm.
