Early in 2020, an agreement between WALGA and LGANT enabled Katherine Town Council became the first Northern Territory subscriber to the CouncilConnect
platform in early 2020, and have recently refreshed their website design in 2025 to align with the changing needs of the community since that time.

About the client

Katherine Town Council serves the fourth largest town in the Northern Territory, situated 320km south-east of Darwin along the picturesque Katherine River.
With more than 11,000 residents, Katherine functions as a vital regional centre supporting an area comparable in size to the state of Victoria. The Council became the first Northern Territory subscriber to the CouncilConnect platform in early 2020, and have recently refreshed their website design in 2025 to align with the changing needs of the community.

The Brief

The website refresh was guided by the community’s engagement with the website and the feedback they had provided. Design elements were structured to highlight key information pathways including News, Events and Quick Links with prominent positioning. 

Improved Navigation

The website refresh provided Katherine Town Council with a valuable opportunity to assess and refine their design and functionality requirements, guided by community feedback. A key focus was placed on developing an intuitive user interface that delivers a seamless and accessible experience for all members of the Alice Springs community, ensuring information is easy to find and navigate across the site.

Content Control

Our CouncilConnect refresh enabled Katherine Town Council to perform timely updates to all page content and enhanced community engagement and navigation by creating a comprehensive digital platform supporting both administrative efficiency and community engagement objectives.

The Outcome

The website refresh was guided by the community’s engagement with the website and the feedback they
had provided. Design elements were structured to highlight key information pathways including News,
Events and Quick Links with prominent positioning. The layout highlights an image rotator to showcase
the Katherine region's natural beauty and community activities.Working closely and efficiently with the client, Market Creations Agency set the refreshed site live in July 2025.
