Phase 1: Campaign Strategy
The messaging strategy focused on four key pillars:
- Emphasising the profound community impact of local government roles
- Showcasing flexibility and work-life balance
- Highlighting the diversity of roles available across metropolitan and regional councils
- Promoting career advancement opportunities within the sector
Market Creations Agency developed the campaign brand suite, including logo design and visual identity, and managed all aspects of planning, execution, and reporting. We coordinated photographers and videographers from our partners at Soco Studios to capture authentic, on-the-ground stories from councils across WA.
Phase 1: Campaign Delivery
The campaign was delivered primarily through digital channels, supported by traditional media. Paid advertising ran across TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook, complemented by organic social content and cross-promotion with local government pages.
Local governments could participate as sponsors or supporters, gaining access to campaign materials, job listing opportunities on the LG Careers website, and inclusion in the video series featuring their team members. Sponsors were also promoted through the campaign website, social channels, and press releases.
The campaign website served as a central hub, showcasing hero videos, available jobs, key benefits, testimonials, and interactive features such as the “Find Your Fit” survey, helping users identify roles based on their interests and skills. Market Creations Agency also produced supporting collateral, including pull-up banners, sponsorship prospectuses, digital billboards, regional radio ads, and print advertising in statewide publications.
Phase 1: Campaign Results
Running from September to December 2024, Phase 1 attracted strong engagement across the sector:
- 11 major sponsors and 31 supporting shires signed on
- Meta ads achieved over 1 million impressions, reaching more than 500,000 unique users
- Multiple direct job enquiries were generated through social media platforms
The campaign successfully elevated awareness of local government careers and positioned the sector as an attractive option for graduates and professionals.
Looking Ahead: Phase 2
Following the success of Phase 1, Market Creations Agency was re-engaged to lead Phase 2, scheduled for December 2025 to March 2026. This next stage will continue building brand awareness, share more authentic stories from a diverse range of local government professionals, and focus on driving conversions through direct job enquiries for campaign sponsors.
