The Design

The refreshed design leverages a soft blue and white colour palette, complemented by pastel accents of pink, green, and orange that bring vibrancy and warmth to the page. This aesthetic creates a clean, modern presence while maintaining a professional tone. The homepage prioritises usability with quick links and a prominent search bar in the opening fold, supported by dynamic content areas that keep residents and visitors informed about what’s happening in the community.

The Development

The new site incorporates a range of smart features designed to enhance functionality and accessibility. An alerts banner sits at the top of the page for urgent updates, while accessibility controls and ReadSpeaker applications ensure the site is inclusive for all users. A dedicated homepage feed highlights upcoming events and workshops, and a visually engaging content area showcases key initiatives such as the Town Hub Revitalisation, Cultural Hub, and the stunning Lake Leschenaultia. To keep the community connected, the site also includes a prominent e-newsletter sign-up field, enabling residents and stakeholders to receive the latest news directly in their inbox.

What’s Happening

One of the standout features of the new website is the “What’s Happening” tab, which allows users to toggle between latest news, public notices, media releases, and Have Your Say surveys, all within a single content area. A dynamic carousel displays the most recent updates based on the selected tab, creating an interactive and user-friendly experience.
