Edith Cowan University

In late 2024, Market Creations Agency partnered with Edith Cowan University (ECU) for the first time to design the Skeletal Central: Strong Bones for Life Teacher Resource Book, developed in collaboration with Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA and Singular Health. This 180-page educational resource was created in response to the growing global challenge of osteoporosis, which affects an estimated 200 million people worldwide and nearly 924,000 Australians. The resource aims to empower teachers with interactive activities and detailed curriculum content focused on bone health, covering three key themes: the structure and function of the skeletal system, stability and change in bone, and health and performance.

The Design

Our design approach combined clarity and engagement. Using a teal and orange colour palette, we created a clean, professional layout that balanced detailed graphics, annotations, and supporting images with accessible language. Worksheets and interactive elements were integrated throughout to make the resource practical and easy to use in classroom settings. The result was a visually appealing publication that maintained academic integrity while enhancing usability for educators.

Launch Event

Market Creations Agency was thrilled to attend the official launch of the resource, connecting with researchers and key industry stakeholders who shared their excitement about the impact this tool will have on preventative health education. Hearing first-hand feedback and seeing the positive reception reinforced the value of thoughtful design in delivering complex information effectively.

The Outcome

The Skeletal Central Teacher Resource Book stands out as a comprehensive, well-designed educational tool now widely used by ECU medical students and educators. The project received excellent feedback from Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA’s project management team, who later re-engaged MCA to design their Burden of Disease Publication Report in collaboration with Curtin University. You can read more about that project here.
