Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA

Arthritis & Osteoporosis Western Australia (AOWA) is the state’s peak body working to reduce the incidence and disabling effects of arthritis, osteoporosis, and related conditions. Their landmark publication, produced with Monash University in collaboration with Curtin University, calls for urgent action to address the escalating musculoskeletal burden in WA, including health system expenditure forecast to reach $2.25 billion within 20 years.

AOWA engaged Market Creations Agency to design a compelling, professional report that translates complex health economics and epidemiology into accessible, high‑impact communication, delivered in both print-ready and interactive PDF formats for broad dissemination.

The Design

Our team set out to make a medical research document engaging, informative, and credible. The visual system embraces a teal–orange palette that harmonises brand colours from Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA, Curtin University, and Monash University into a unified identity. Soft, flowing dotwork textures and clean anatomical cues (skeletal system line art) give the publication a distinctive, human-centred feel while maintaining academic gravitas.

Visual Data

One of the most important aspects of this publication was presenting complex modelling and statistical findings as simple, trustworthy visuals. We requested native Excel/source files for all figures to preserve accuracy, then rebuilt charts for consistency and legibility.

The centrepiece is a two‑page infographic spread distilling projections for arthritis, long‑term back problems, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, alongside forecasted health system expenditure, so readers can grasp the trajectory at a glance and understand the urgency of preventive investment.

Launch Event

AOWA unveiled Time to Act at a dedicated launch. Interest far exceeded expectations with registrations needing to be closed early after the event surpassed room capacity. The audience response was highly positive—an indication of the report’s relevance and the clarity of its presentation.
