Cable Beach Redevelopment Communications

One of the first major projects Market Creations Agency was engaged to support was the Cable Beach Foreshore Redevelopment, a significant community infrastructure project designed to improve accessibility, safety and visitor experiences at one of Western Australia's most iconic destinations.

As works progressed, the project generated significant community interest and required clear, proactive communication to keep residents, businesses and visitors informed about construction activities, project updates and temporary access arrangements. Recognising the importance of maintaining public confidence throughout the redevelopment, our team worked closely with the Shire to develop strategic communication approaches that balanced transparency, timeliness and community expectations.

Our support included:

  • Strategic communications planning
  • Media release development
  • Internal briefing documents and key messaging frameworks
  • Community information materials
  • Stakeholder communication support
  • Website content reviews and recommendations
  • Project update materials and community-facing communications

By providing structured, strategic communications support, we helped the Shire effectively communicate complex project information while managing community interest and ensuring residents remained informed throughout key stages of the redevelopment.

2026 Rates Notices Campaign

In 2026, Market Creations Agency partnered with the Shire to develop a comprehensive communications strategy supporting the release of annual rates notices and the adoption of the 2026/27 budget.

Understanding that local government rates can often be misunderstood, our approach focused on improving transparency and helping residents better understand how rates contribute to the delivery of community infrastructure, facilities and essential services. The communications plan outlined key messaging, stakeholder considerations, media opportunities and supporting campaign activities designed to proactively address common questions while reinforcing the value delivered to the community through rates revenue.

To bring the campaign to life, our team developed a suite of creative assets, including:

  • A two-minute animated explainer video
  • The budget announcement media release
  • Social media carousel graphics
  • Budget and rates brochure content and design support
  • Internal briefing resources and FAQs
  • Email signature graphics

The resulting campaign transformed a traditionally complex topic into clear, easy-to-understand content, helping residents better understand how rates are calculated, where funds are invested and the role rates play in supporting a growing regional community.

Weed Management & Environmental Health Communications

Market Creations Agency has also supported the Shire's environmental and public health priorities through the development of educational resources, campaign materials and digital content.

A major component of this work involved the redevelopment of the Shire's Weed Management website content, transforming a limited information resource into a comprehensive community education hub aligned with the Weed Management Strategy and Action Plan 2026-2029. Our team developed an extensive content framework designed to educate residents about local weed species, prevention strategies, identification resources and community responsibilities.

Additional support included:

  • New newspaper advertising templates for environmental health and weed management initiatives
  • Educational communication materials
  • Community awareness resources
  • Digital content development
  • Design support for environmental campaigns

The outcome was a suite of consistent communication tools that strengthened community awareness and provided the Shire with reusable resources to support ongoing environmental education activities.

Other Community Programs & Campaigns

Alongside major infrastructure and corporate communications projects, Market Creations Agency has delivered a range of targeted communication plans and campaign materials to support community programs and initiatives across the Shire.

This work has included the development of communications plans and promotional resources for the Community Development Fund and Quick Response Grants programs, helping raise awareness of funding opportunities and encourage community participation. Our team also developed strategic communications and supporting collateral for the Shire's Animal Management initiatives, including educational materials designed to help residents understand proposed changes and their impact on the community.

Beyond these projects, Market Creations Agency has produced a variety of community-facing communication assets, including Have Your Say promotional materials, posters, flyers, community information graphics, social media content and media releases. This ongoing support has helped the Shire maintain consistent, professional communications across a diverse range of community engagement and public awareness activities.
